We are looking for a Project Manager to lead some of the company’s most strategically important product development projects. You’ll take ownership from early concept to production ramp-up and ensure that technical progress, stakeholder alignment, and project delivery stay on track.

The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a cross-disciplinary environment and has the drive to make things move - even when complexity is high.

About the role

Onics is in the middle of building a new product platform that will form the backbone of the company’s next generation of IoT products. This is not a single product – it’s a platform combined with a pipeline of physical products that will be launched sequentially, starting in early 2027.

As Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of the platform project and the first product tracks already in motion. Some groundwork is in place – but the real challenge (and opportunity) is now: creating structure, momentum, and predictability in a highly complex development setup involving hardware, firmware, software, testing, certification, and production ramp-up.

You’ll be balancing short-term deliveries with long-term planning: making sure the next milestone is met, while already booking test capacity, production slots, and ramp-up activities months ahead. The decisions you help drive will directly impact time-to-market, product cost, and the company’s ability to scale.

Your key responsibilities

• Project Ownership: Lead and take full responsibility for product development projects across mechanical hardware, firmware, software, and production engineering.

• Planning & Control: Plan and manage scope, timelines, resources, budget, and product cost, using Jira as the primary tool for project tracking and decision support.

• Short‑ and Long‑Term Alignment: Balance immediate deliverables with longer‑term coordination such as testing, production readiness, and ramp‑up planning.

• Stakeholder & Risk Management: Drive alignment across teams, functions, and locations while proactively identifying and mitigating project risks.

• Handover & Transition: Ensure a smooth and well‑prepared handover to sustaining engineering and program management after project completion.

• Process & Quality Improvement: Contribute actively to improving project practices, and quality assurance routines.

• Have solid experience managing complex development projects in the cross section of mechanical, hardware and software.

• Are comfortable working with multiple ongoing projects and shifting priorities

• Have a background in electronics, firmware, or hardware – or a strong technical understanding across disciplines

• Know how to create clarity and progress in projects by combining planning, iteration, and active stakeholder involvement.

• Communicate clearly and credibly with both technical specialists and stakeholders

• Move confidently between the technical and strategic level and understand how they connect.

• Have worked with product development, consumer electronics and production ramp-up.
